CEO & LPL Financial Advisor
Chris Key
Chris Key is an Accredited Asset Management Specialist with a successful decade of experience in finance. He works with his clients, in cooperation with their tax professionals and attorneys, to develop a financial plan that aims to give them confidence in their financial future. His commitment to outstanding customer service is evidenced by his three national customer service awards, and recognition as the Readers Choice Johnston County Advisor of the Year** 2008. He believes many investors are ready to give up on investing and have lost faith in a traditional generic retirement plan. He hopes that more in depth planning, a commitment to service, and diversification into non-traditional asset classes will re-engage the investors he works with.
Chris’s commitment to service goes beyond the walls of his office and his clients. His involvement in the community has included service as board chair of the Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce, Partnership for Children of Johnston County, and Partnership to Build a Miracle Capital Campaign committee. He also served as President of the Rotary Club of Central Johnston County, and as a member of the West Smithfield Elementary and Small Business Center Advisory Boards.
In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his family. He enjoys sports as well, especially basketball and tennis He also plays golf, but like many golfers, does not always enjoy it. He practices woodworking, photography, and landscaping. His projects include many of the photographs hanging in the office, and the conference table he built from wood from the old Riverside Warehouse in Smithfield.
He is married to Nicole Key, who he met while attending NC State, explaining their love for all things Wolfpack. After earning a degree in Business Management and Finance he worked as a regional sales manager, corporate consultant, then in 2003 began his career as a financial advisor. His wife Nicole owns Nicole’s Closet, a clothing store for like new, name brand teen clothes. They have four children, Becca, Angie, Rylie, and Jackson; all Wolfpack fans in training.
